Hello Loucis and Soula
Very belatedly, I wanted to thank you both for your generosity and kindness,
and making us feel so welcome during our trip to Greece. The day with
Loucis and dinner with both of you are my two favorite memories of our
time in Greece. The view from the place we had drinks was so beautiful,
and the company and food at the restaurant was the best!! Many, many thanks
for all you did for us!
We did visit two other islands later in the week--Andros and Myconos.
Chuck rented motor cycles on both islands, and we drove all over. I still
don't understand why they call Andros the green island, but it was beautiful.
We stayed in Basti while we were there, and spent the next day in Myconos.
The pelicans were so friendly, and actually let me touch one of them.
I've told some of my friends about our great time with you and given them
your name Loucis for their future trips. I'll let you know if anyone I
know is visiting Athens in the near future. If you and Soula and your
daughters ever want to visit the United States, please know that you always
have a place to stay with us.
Many, many thanks for everything! Wishing you a very happy, healthy winter
and holiday season:-))

Travelers to Greece, ATTENTION!:
For those people planning a visit to Athens and/or ther Greek mainland,
I can recommend, without exception, the taxi services of Loucis Louca
and his
wife Soula Louca.
My son-in-law, a grandson and I were given unusual holiday accommodation
this past 2003/2004 season by Mr. Louca. Loucis was willing to take us
to Olympia and back to Athens is one day in his comfortable Mercedes.
The best part was his taking us to a restaurant he knew and helped us
order
lunch.
On New Year's Day, when everything is closed in
Greece, he took us to Sounio to see the Temple of Poseidon, and again
he selected a super barbecue restaurant on the way.
Loucis is a very safe driver, obliging in everyway, and knowledgeable
about
Greece. His English is excellent, his rates reasonable and in line with
others we investigated prior to going. We all enjoyed his sense of humor
and special hospitality.
I have talked by telephone to Loucis'wife Soula and found her delightful
in onversation. We understand that she is an excellent driver, also, and
has been an English teacher. She helps with driving airport to hotel transfers.
It gives me pleasure to recommend them both.

To Whom It May Concern:
My husband and I have used Mr. Louca as our guide on several occasions
while in Greece. We were especially impressed with his knowledge of Athens and
the surrounding area.
We were always picked up promptly and he went out of his way to see that we
were comfortable. He was kind enough to offer suggestions as to what to see
and when to see it, so we could make the best use of our time.
On our first visit to Athens, he arranged our schedule so that we saw
most of the city in one day. He expedited our ticket purchases so that even
when there were 50 to 100 people ahead of us to see a particularly popular site,
we had virtually no wait at all. I honestly think that we were very fortunate
to have found Mr. Louca, who came recommended by the Concierge at the Ledra
Marriott.
We have also had occasion to hire Mr. Loucas wife, Soula. There
was a time when Mr. Louca had prior commitments; as we only had a couple of
days in Athens and didnt want to start the guide search on
such short notice, Mr. Louca told us that his wife also did tours and we promptly
hired her. She is delightful, knowledgeable and very competent.
Having been to many other countries and utilized the talents of many other
guides, we still feel very fortunate that we came to hire both Mr. and Mrs.
Louca.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (702) 897-4118.
We would be happy to visit with you regarding the Loucas expertise.
Sincerely,
Dianna and Keith Bassett

Dear Loucis and Soula,
My wife Betty and I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas
and a prosperous and happy New Year.
It has been nearly a year since we met and enjoyed the trips you shared
with us around Greece. We still mention it when Steve and Cavan are around.
Grandson Cavan is going to study for 5 months in Paris at the Sorbonne
beginning in early January. Maybe I can catch a trip in Europe with him
before he comes home.
Our big Thanksgiving Day was a success. The picture shows you the rest
of our family.
Enjoy your New Year's fireworks,
Ed and Betty Porter

Recommendation for Loucis
Thursday, August 19
Name :
Carol Clore
|
Lucille:
I have not yet posted a letter about Loucis' service on the internet (I will)
but I can tell you about him here if that's OK. I have recommended his
service to many people since we've been back. Please feel free to forward this
recommendation to anyone looking for a wonderful service that is
provided by a very kind man.
I found his service on the internet and we corresponded for about 2 months
prior to arriving in Athens. He was very clear and helpful in providing the
information my husband and I needed in order to make our decision to hire him.
I searched other sites for comparable services/cost and found his to be competitive.
His demeanor in his e-mails and his willingness to work for us
with no money initially put down up front was truly a factor we considered when
making our decision to hire him. We developed a trust in our e-mails
and I believe that was the reason he agreed to this arrangement. I would hope
that anyone you might recommend to him would also be someone he could
trust to make the same arrangement. He did say that if he agrees to meet someone
with no money down and they don't show up, that is a day of work
lost for him and that is completely understandable.
He agreed to meet us at the port at 8:30 a.m. and he was there right when we
got off of the ship with a sign with our last name on it. As promised, he
was in a yellow air-conditioned Mercedes that was clean and comfortable. We
had previously discussed places and locations to visit based on the time
frame we had agreed to (8:30-4:00). We knew we wanted to go to the Acropolis
and to the Temple of Poseidon which is an hour away in the other
direction. He suggested that we drive out to the Temple of Poseidon first, before
the busloads of people got there. We had a beautiful scenic drive,
stopped along the way for picture-taking and when we got there, found we were
the very first to arrive. He parked the car and we walked around on
our own, enjoying the history and beautiful scenery by ourselves. When we were
ready to leave, 5 buses pulled up. What a great recommendation he made
to go out there first - he was right!
We enjoyed conversation with him throughout the day while driving around while
at the same time, he was pointing out certain things for us to know as
we worked our way around the city. Loucis is not a "tour guide" per se, but
knows a great deal about Athens. He did have maps and literature in the
back of the car for us to reference.
Later on, he dropped us off at La Placa and we agreed on a time and place to
meet him. We wanted to shop and have lunch on our own and when we were
ready to meet him, there he was, right there, on time, as promised!
We kept saying throughout the day that we were so glad we took a chance on
this arrangement because it worked out so beautifully without any hiccups.
Going at our own pace, doing what we wanted with suggestions from him and not
being herded around on a bus with 100 other people was the best decision
we made. We travel often and know and demand quality and punctual service.
I can honestly say that Loucis provides that service. He is a man of his word.
I would not only higly recommend him to anyone looking for this kind
of service, but if my husband and I go back to Athens, we would, without hesitation,
contact him again.
Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone wanting to know moreabout
Loucis - he's the best!
Thanks for asking,
Carol

Hello from New Zealand
Tuesday, January 11, 2005
Name :
Debbie
Greetings to you both from New Zealand.
I hope this finds you both well and ready for the madness
of the Olympics! I hear the city is ready and waiting – all roads are
completed and ready for the Olympic traffic. Is this true? Are you going
to be very busy.
It is winter here in New Zealand, not too bad but a cold
period lately. Lots of snow nearer the mountains. I live by the sea so
we miss out on frosts and snow but get the cold wind.
Lynda and I had a fabulous day with you showing us the
sights. It will make watching the Olympics all the more special.
Take care, don’t work too hard.
Regards
Debbie Moody |

Dear Soula and Loucis:
It was so wonderful to hear from you again! We have often thought of you and the girls when we remember our wonderful trip to Greece and the special evening we spent together.
I would be delighted to say that the warm personal attention, the gracious hospitality, the professional manner and efficient service that Loucis extended to us made our trip to Greece the best that it could have been. We will always remember fondly the charming restaurants he took us to and how valuable his knowledge of all locations, cities and tourist destinations was in making our sightseeing activities pleasant, smooth and fun. He accommodated our every request ...and he was the most charming guide we've ever met!
I know how hard the girls are working. Our boys too just finished most of their big tests and college applications. The winter has been very cold and everyone has been working very hard with acadmics and athletics. But everyone is well...I wish the girls good luck with all of their work--- and I send you and Loucis a warm hug. You are a wonderful team and we feel very fortunate to have had the benefit of your services and hospitality. I wish you all good luck and look forward to seeing you again some day. Thanks for keeping in touch.!
With fondest regards,
Janene, Rich Dan, Greg (and Ben!) |

Hi Loukis and Soula!
Kelly, Trish and I returned home last Tuesday and I wanted to tell you how much
we enjoyed our visit in Greece. It was so much more beautiful than I expected
and the people were so kind, friendly, and
accomodating to us.
Our visit was made extra special by you. It was wonderful having our own personal
guide. We were able to see so much more by using your services and we had the
flexibility of spending more time in places that we really liked without having
to wait on a tour group. Your suggestions were excellent, plus you are both
very nice people! As you know, I compared costs between your services
and group tour guides before we came, and you actually cost less. We wish you
had been with us in Italy!!
We will always recommend you to our friends if they visit in Athens and will
be glad to provide a recommendation to your clients at any time.
Thanks so much for a wonderful visit to your beautiful country!
Mary Mahan
P. S. We'll send you a picture when we get them.
